Event Details

Director Tom Lund is holding auditions for a one-night only production of The Man with Bogart’s Face, in the style of a live 1940’s radio play. Dramatic Publishing describe’s the show as “The operation was a total success. When the bandages were removed, the man with the Humphrey Bogart face “buys a trench coat and a big gun and opens an office under the name of Sam Marlow, Private Investigator. Hiring a bosomy breathless blond for a secretary/receptionist, he sits behind his desk, pours himself a slug of rye, and waits for the clients to appear. Of course they come! Bizarre ones, silly ones, you name them, they all come. Naturally, the deadly ones are somehow tied up with the beautiful dame, the one who looks just like Gene Tierney in Laura.”

The cast consists of 9 men and 5 women, with some characters speaking in dialects and actors playing multiple roles. The audition will consist of a cold read from the script. Rehearsals for the show will be held once a week (7:00 pm – 9:00 pm) from August 19 through October 4. The week of October 7th, rehearsals will be held every night. The performance will be the evening of October 12th.

**Those auditioning can use the faculty parking lot at the corner of 11th Street and Newhall Avenue.**
