Our Vision / Our Mission / Who We Are
The Newhall Family Theatre for the Performing Arts will grow, mature, and adapt to changes in the community, to evaluate the negatives while building a foundation on the positives of society through performance opportunities.
The Newhall Family Theatre for the Performing Arts is organized to introduce the youth and surrounding community to theatre experiences that educate, nurture, and inspire.
Who We Are
From former Superintendent, Paul Corderio: “Our efforts in support of arts instruction continue to forward. Beyond our huge instrumental and choral music programs and our visual arts instruction, we are working toward greater arts integration in everyday teaching and learning. We are doing this through our collaboration with the Kennedy Center and, locally, with the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center Arts Education Outreach. Further, last year, we worked with the Los Angeles County Arts Commission to draft a comprehensive arts education (Arts for All) plan that, when fully implemented, will round out Newhall’s arts program with the addition of drama and dance. There has never been a better time in the District’s history for students to fully explore and enjoy all aspects of the arts.”
From Theater Manager, Tom Lund: “The Newhall Family Theatre for the Performing Arts gives the students access to a full size, operational theatre; an experience that I didn’t have until high school. There will be programming that sparks a passion for the arts. The beauty of theatre is that it not only entertains, but also can teach lifelong skills and lessons. Theatre is a living, breathing art form that should be available, accessible and inclusive for all people. That’s what I hope to bring to this wonderful venue.”
