Returning for the first time in-person since 2019, the City of Santa Clarita presents the Newhallywood Silent Film Festival which will celebrate two giants of early Hollywood: Charlie Chaplin and Cecil B. DeMille.
An open house portion of the event will begin at 7:00 pm. At 8:00 pm, the City of Santa Clarita will honor Charlie Chaplin and have a screening of the films The Adventurer & The Pilgrim.
Released in 1917, The Adventurer: the Little Tramp escapes from prison; saves a girl and her mother from drowning; and creates havoc at a swank party. The Pilgrim, released in 1923: disguised as a priest, an escaped convict makes his way to Texas. He ends up in a small rural town where the townsfolk mistake him for their new church minister.
**Important note regarding parking: street parking is very limited. The Old Town Newhall Library parking lot, as well as the structure across the street, are located within short walking distance of the Newhall Family Theatre for the Performing Arts.**
